George Springer homers to help Houston Astros tie AL record for consecutive playoff games with HR

CLEVELAND — The Houston Astros tied an American League file Monday by hitting a house run of their 12th consecutive postseason recreation.

George Springer’s fifth-inning residence run off Mike Clevinger tied the sport at 1-1 and prolonged a streak that started in final season’s postseason. Houston homered in three video games in opposition to Cleveland, seven video games in opposition to the Dodgers in successful final season’s World Sequence, and two video games in opposition to the Yankees within the ALCS.

The Baltimore Orioles held the file with residence runs in 12 consecutive playoff video games from 1983 to 1997.

Springer’s first-pitch residence run into the left-field seats was his second of the sequence and ninth within the postseason in his profession, an Astros staff file. Springer has hit a house run in six of his final seven postseason video games.

Cleveland’s Francisco Lindor homered within the fifth to present the Indians a Three-2 lead.

Houston received the primary two video games of the ALDS.
