Heavy rains have prompted water ranges to rise on the island of Majorca

Not less than 5 individuals have died and a number of other are lacking in flash flooding on the Spanish island of Majorca.

An enormous wave of muddy water engulfed the city of Sant Llorenc des Cardassar, within the east of the island, after a river burst its banks following heavy rain.

Automobiles have been washed away and a number of other individuals are believed to be lacking, native media report.

The Spanish army is deploying greater than 100 emergency staff with sniffer canine.

Three helicopters and a army Hercules airplane are additionally being despatched from the mainland Spanish metropolis of Valencia.
