U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin nonetheless plans to attend a Saudi funding convention later this month, regardless of rising outrage over the disappearance of distinguished Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi.
A flurry of media firms and prime executives have introduced they’re pulling out of the Future Funding Initiative (FII) in Riyadh on October 23. It comes after allegations had been made concerning the kingdom’s connection to Khashoggi after he went lacking initially of the month.
“We’re involved about what’s the standing of Mr Khashoggi … (However) I’m planning on going at this level,” Mnuchin advised CNBC’s Geoff Cutmore on Friday.
“If extra data comes out and modifications, we may take a look at that however I’m planning on going,” he added.
