Thousands are expected to come out to today’s Chappaqua Children’s Book Festival, and well over 100 authors and artists will be sharing their books and creations.
The event is a grassroots effort put together by volunteers that gives attendees the opportunity to buy books and meet the creators behind their favorite characters.
One author tells News 12 that even if you’re not a bookworm, you won’t want to miss out on the fun.
“The thing about this particular event is that there are so many authors here and so many different kinds of books that I can almost guarantee you that – even a kid that thinks that they don’t like books, that they don’t like reading, is going to find something that they like,” says author Tracey Baptiste.
Vendors are also selling baked goods for the Share Our Strength’s “No Kid Hungry Campaign,” a campaign fighting to end child hunger.
