You can’t rest on your laurels on NBC’s ‘The Voice.’
A new, game-changing format, live Cross Battles, in which artists from opposing teams compete live for America’s vote starts tonight on the show.
Mondays are Cross Battle Shows this week and next week. In every Cross Battle, two coaches will go head-to-head in a “live school yard pick,” each selecting one artist from their team to go up against another team’s artist. Each artist will perform an individual song, and viewers will decide the winners.
The Bundys, a sibling trio from Wyoming in the Cincinnati area, will head into battle on one of the two Monday night Cross Battles.The Bundys are the first trio to compete on The Voice.
On the Tuesday results shows, host Carson Daly will reveal the winner of each Cross Battle, and 16 artists will advance to the next round through America’s vote.
Each coach has one save and one steal to use.
The new Live Cross Battles round will begin with 32 artists remaining in the competition. Over the course of two weeks, eight pairs of 16 artists will perform each Monday. Live Cross Battles Begin Monday, April 15 and continue Tuesday, April 16, and April 22 and 23.
The Bundys said they have appreciated the support they have received from their hometown and are counting on that support to continue in the competition.
Viewers can vote using App Voting and Online Voting during the April 15, and April 22, shows. Voting opens at the end of the broadcast on The Voice Official App, available on the App Store or Google Play and at NBC.com/VoiceVote. You can vote up to 10 times, but to vote on the NBC website, you must set up a profile.
The Cross Battle Rounds begin at 8 p.m., Monday, April 15, on NBC, WLWT-5 in Cincinnati, and continue on Tuesday, April 16 from 8-9 p.m.
