Stew-Stras physicals clinic

STEWARDSON — Stewardson-Strasburg schools will offer a physicals clinic Thursday, May 9, provided by the Shelby County Health Department.

There is a $20 fee for the exam, and checks should be made payable to the Shelby County Health Department. Medical cards are accepted.

Exams are required for students entering kindergarten, sixth and ninth grade and for all students participating in athletics.

Richland alumna of the year

DECATUR — Richland Community College has named Cindy Jackson Alumna of the Year.

Jackson is operations manager at The Good Samaritan Inn in Decatur and an adjunct faculty member at Richland in the horticulture department. She has written curriculum for a local Field to Fork job skills training program in which low-income residents are taught to grow and prepare food.

She will be honored at the Richland Recognition Dinner on Tuesday, April 16, prior to the meeting of the Richland Board of Trustees.
