Michelle Obama stops at Milwaukee school while on book tour

Michelle Obama was in Milwaukee on Thursday for her book tour, but Thursday afternoon, she and Conan O’Brien stopped and surprised about a dozen juniors from local high schools at Milwaukee Collegiate Academy. The students said they had no idea she was coming. “There are people who will make wrong judgments about you in life, and that still happens to me. It happened to me as first lady. It happened, I write about, during the course of my president’s campaign when people told me I didn’t love my country, and I was too bossy, and I was too loud,” Obama said. The school event was hosted by Reach Higher, an initiative launched by Obama in 2014 to inspire every student in America to take charge of their future by completing their education past high school. Several thousand people showed up at the Milwaukee Theatre Thursday night to hear Obama speak. It was a conversation to promote her book that was moderated O’Brien.
