The No. 5 OU men’s golf team finished third in the Boilermaker Invitational in West Lafayette, Indiana.
The tournament was scheduled to be a two-day, 54-hole event, but officials cancelled play on Sunday due to heavy rain, and calling the tournament after 36 holes.
The Sooners shot a 283 (-5) Saturday morning and a 279 (-9) in the afternoon, bringing their total for the day to 562 (-14). Tournament champion Illinois State carded a score of 560 (-16), followed by runner-up Purdue at 561 (-15).
Senior Brad Dalke finished with an individual score of 140 (-4), putting him in a tie for ninth. Close behind were freshman Patrick Welch and junior Quade Cummins, who tied for 12th at 141 (-3).
Rounding out the Sooner lineup were senior Blaine Hale, who finished tied for 22nd with a 143 (-1), and junior Garett Reband, who was tied for 30th at 144 (E).
Junior Riley Casey also competed for the Sooners as an individual, shooting a 137 (-7) to claim sole possession of second place.
OU’s next tournament will be the 2019 Big 12 Championship, held April 26-28 at The Greenbriar in West Sulphur Springs, West Virginia.
